"Dream Piano"
One night in mid-2007 Iris dreamt she was raising money for the Church by producing an Entertainment Show. When she woke the next day, she thought it would be a good idea! Wondering what to raise money for, she hit on the idea of a new piano for St Augustine's. Our old church piano had seen better days (both visually, and also by the sound it produced). So the evening which Iris called “Dream Piano” was born. It took a couple of months to organise it and it was a great success! We had a full Church on a Saturday evening in July in spite of the fact that the Church Holiday members arrived back that very day so they were unable to come. The entertainment was supplied by our talented members of St Augustine's congregation. Altogether we raised more money than we actually needed to purchase our lovely new piano, as some people were very generous with donations. We hope to buy a keyboard for the Chapel with the surplus.
The first picture is Iris sitting at the 'Dream Piano' in St Augustine's Church. The second is Iris at home in front of her own piano, with her saxophone.

Iris writes:
Dear fellow St Augustine’s Member,
If you don’t enjoy relaxing, melodic piano music, then read no further!
I have been composing for nearly 10 years now and have CDs in many countries (America, Germany, Holland, England) – just to mention a few.
I now have a music publisher “North Star Music” who have produced a CD of 19 of my solo piano pieces called “Pause to Music” on sale in Germany.
However, my most exciting venture is with Tom Salvatori who is a well-known Classical Guitarist from Illinois. Together we have produced a CD called “When Evening Falls” which contains 7 of my piano pieces and 7 of Tom’s guitar pieces expertly arranged by John Catchings – a well-known American arranger who plays his cello on many of the tracks. In the American New Age recorder charts (where for those Classic FM listeners Ludivico Einaudi was 18th out of the top 100), we are currently 3rd, beating many of the well-known names in the New Age - Classical Contemporary Genre! This CD has many good reviews already. I have now produced 2 music books of my piano scores called “Sunset” and “Breath of Spring.” I would say the standard of the pieces range from probably grade 4 to grade 7 so if any of you are pianists who might like to play the music, please contact me.
Below I have included the reviews of my music which tell you more about it than I ever could. The first is from Tom Salvatori.
“Working with Iris as a music partner and in production over the past few years has been an extraordinary honour for both Mike and me.
Introducing her piano music to new audiences brings a fresh, clear voice of reason to the conflicted world we live in; a mature voice assured with sincerity, warmth and hope. If ever you seek a place of solitude for reflection and respite, play Iris’ music. It will elevate your spirit and bring peace to your heart. If you tell your friends about Iris’ music and they in turn tell their friends, surely it can become a catalyst for spreading peace across the continents. Timeless in its styling, warm and tender in its delivery, Iris’ beautiful instrumental piano compositions represent a beacon of hope in a world overwrought with too many problems.”

The second is written by Robin Alciatore who is a well-known Classical Pianist from California. She has produced a CD of my music called “Sea of Tranquillity” on which she plays many of my pieces which she selected as her favourites.
Iris’s melodies are immediate, personal, and honest – sometimes plaintive, sometimes sentimental, and at times even grand. They comfort and soothe. They elevate and inspire. Her harmonies are, at once, both contemporary and timeless.
She effortlessly blends familiar harmonic progressions with unexpected yet delicious surprises, and the results are sublime! Her music evokes a world apart from our own realities, where possibilities seem endless, hope never wanes, and the light shines bright and pure. It is music for your mind and your heart.Robin Alciatore,
