St Luke's Bellringers

Bellringing at St Luke, Bromley Common
The peal of eight bells at St Luke, Bromley Common were installed in the new tower and spire in
1910 and have been rung for church worship, weddings and to mark special occasions ever since.
This has been made possible by a dedicated band of bellringers who are committed to continue this
service to the church. We practice weekly on Thursday evenings and in addition to service ringing,
occasionally participate in outings elsewhere to ring the bells at other churches.
We always need new recruits to join our band. Bellringing is not physically demanding and full
instruction is given in basic bell handling skills. Once these are mastered, ringing as part of a team
takes place which is both stimulating and fun.
Please contact the the Tower Captain, Christopher Lawrance on
0208 462 3485 or the Vicar or Curate for more information.
