Top of the Pew

We finished a successful 2019 by beating Emmanuel United Reform Church in the final in November. It was the third time that we will have had our name on the trophy in the many years that the annual competition has been going.

There was no competition in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic. This year, the competition started again and our team faced St. Swithun's in a tightly fought match in the Garden Room on Sunday 29th May. We lost by 61 points to 63 and wish St. Swithun's well in the forthcoming matches.

The Bromley Deanery organised a well-attended quiz in support of Christians against Poverty - capuk.org. A representative from the Bromley partnership of the charity gave a moving speech telling how they how they helped local people struggling to manage crippling debts. CAP are committed to seeing individuals, who have been trapped in debt, released from debt, poverty and their causes. The event raised £200 for the charity.

The quiz was great fun. St. Augustine’s sent members of the Top of the Pew team and we won and were presented with two bottles of Prosecco by Fr Richard Norman.
